Tonight wasn't about playing basketball, but it was about basketball. It was about tragedy, family, togetherness, and how sports like basketball can have such a profound impact on life. I hope that Cassius and his family were able to escape for even just a few moments of normalcy while getting lost in the game that they all seem to love so much. +3 1. Bingham and Kithier. Those are my 2 most pleasant surprises in terms of improvements from freshmen to sophomore year. It's just 2 games, but only 1 turnover between the 2 of them tonight and Bingham got another 6 rebounds. Great hands, feet, and instincts by Kithier. Then, Henry, Tillman, and Cash had some great stretches tonight. 2. Speaking of turnovers, only 4. That's right, 4. Unheard of. Izzo era record? 3. Teams that are this bad, just assert your will right out of the gate. Got the running game going, moved the ball against some zone looks, solid defensive possessions, and left no doubt in the first 10 minutes who would win the game. -3 1. 7 for 25 from "3" for 28%. That's 12 for 51, 24% through 2 games. Again, it's 2 games. Henry at 2/2 was a good sign, as was X knocking one down. Not saying it's an issue, nothing is an issue after 2 games. I think because of the line moving back, McQuaid/Goins moving on, and Langford/Hauser not playing, it's 1 of the areas to watch closely as the season progresses. 2. Nitpicky here...but north of 30 FT attempts is realistic against a team like that. I would've loved to see us get even more post touches and live on the FT line. 3. Going to take games and minutes to get our freshmen moving in the right direction, but Watts and Hall are both going to have to make big plays in key situations. MISC * Man, that team is bad. I think each Ferris State team I've watched for the last 5 years would beat Binghamton. * Would've loved to see Loyer knock down some of those open looks. * Nice to see Brown use the bounce to attack and get mid-range jumpers. * I love that Ahrens never seems to turn it over
